Paul Goble, “Get Well Soon”

With great sorrow and heartfelt sympathy, all the readers and supporters of Mr. Paul Goble had received the news about his sudden sickness, looking forward to see him getting well again as soon as possible.

His achievements showed that he is a director of research and publications at the Azerbaijan Diplomatic Academy, beside his service as vice dean for the social sciences and humanities at Audentes University in Tallinn and a senior research associate at the EuroCollege of the University of Tartu in Estonia. While there, he launched the “Window on Eurasia” series. Prior to joining the faculty there in 2004, he served in various capacities in the U.S. State Department, the Central Intelligence Agency and the International Broadcasting Bureau as well as at the Voice of America and Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty and at the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace. He writes frequently on ethnic and religious issues and has edited five volumes on ethnicity and religion in the former Soviet space. Trained at Miami University in Ohio and the University of Chicago, he has been decorated by the governments of Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania for his work in promoting Baltic independence and the withdrawal of Russian forces from those formerly occupied lands.

Overall, he is considered as a human rights activist due to his continuous actions and motions for supporting peoples and nations that need to practice their legitimate rights for freedom and self-determination. A constant tendency of his broad activity had always indicated relentless efforts of defending those who got their destiny under tyrants’ authorities control and had always inspired oppressed and subjugated peoples and nations to rise and to declare civil and human rights.

Persistence and determination that are associated with vast experience and awareness which depended on logic and international law had always been the guidelines and the frame-works of his novelties, publications, editorials, speeches, and of his wealthy opinions and ideas. It seems that he believes in what Late President John F. Kennedy had said, “One path we shall never choose, and that is the path of surrender, or submission”.

When analyzing any of his articles that got dependable sources and straight forward answers and conclusions about important issues and matters, had always got one thing in mind which is “truth will always prevail”, and also his work constantly indicated that endings meant that no one should preach inequality when engaged with occupied races and nations, and advocate abroad good-will towards all others, which reflects the double-standard of those who want to hold the “2014 Winter Olympic Games”, while the structures and buildings are going to be established on the bones and skulls of those who perished while defending their homeland, but at the same time they are falsely trying to show goodwill towards the rest of the world!

Patrick Henry said: “I like the dreams of the future better than the history of the past”.
