 The Kosovo Example

posted by EAGLE on February 25, 2008 7:55 PM as IMPERIALISM

The Kosovo Example

Generally whoever the colonial oppressor and whoever the oppressed victim, the relationship between the imperial authority, being the occupying power and the occupied subjects, peoples, or nations, as the relationship between the beast and the sheep, that normally would be full of fear and terror until the beast is forced and kicked out or neutralized by a greater and more dominating force, which is in this case is the well of the people of restoring dignity, freedom, and independence which are not negotiable for nations that seek to be liberated from the tyrant imperialists.

Finally another oppressed nation has just declared its independence. This time it is Kosovo that decided the practice of its own self-determination which is considered a legitimate right of freedom to choose the nation’s own destiny that is guaranteed by the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.

Serbia showed and proved to be stubborn about the acceptance of the fact of the choice that Kosovo had taken, taking in consideration that Serbia, and with Russian support and protectionhad waged a savage war of terror and ethnic cleansing that affected hundreds of thousands of innocent civilians which eventually forced the Kosovars to revolt and to decide to restore own identity and independence.

Rejection of independenceparties, including countries that were headed by Putin’s Russia, resisted and refused the idea of the tendency for liberty since the start of the independence process, and even worked hard to convince others to reject the newly born nation.

The reason of objection is obvious, which is greed in addition to the desire to control the others by occupying their homelands, regions and territories for the intention of holding all those who are ruled and controlled against their well, and to keep them under colonialism and imperialism.

Putin’s Russia is the most worried of all. This event has increased the fear of the possible future determination of more than 100 nations occupied by Russia to decide their own future through exercising the right of self-determination after hundreds of years of occupation, genocide, ethnic cleansing, destruction, looting, criminal behavior and conduct, terror, torture, tyranny, oppression, destruction, and preaching human rights principles that are protected and guaranteed by the civilized norms, religious fundamentals, and United Nations Charter on Human Rights.

Russia is playing the act of “the beast in sheep’s clothing” after it launched its concealed threats, it insinuated that if Kosovo declares independence, Russia will recognize the independence of the two republics of Abkhazia and South Ossetia; but when reality emerged and Kosovo declared independence, the recognition of the independence of Abkhazia and South Ossetia has stalled, halted and even dragged. The two republics were colonized by Georgia, but managed to kick-out the Georgian Army beyond the borders, which resulted that Russia assumed controlling the two republics under the claims and cover-up of participating in international efforts to maintain peace and to keep stability by creating a buffer zone that divides and separates the fighting forces, to prevent the break out of war between Georgia, and its former colonies Abkhazia and South Ossetia.

In fact both of the two republics have changed only the warden and the detention authority from a greedy colonialist to a more greedy one, that had assumed the control of all walks of life on those small freedom inspired nations to the extent that their citizens are granted Russian citizenship and passports, which made them even participate in the Russian general elections! If they stay the way they are, the two republics will be considered practically under a direct Russian colonial controlthe way Russia used to colonize others during the Soviet era!

Declaring independence which is a touchy issue for Russia, that would create astringent and cause of contraction in the Russian imperial policywhich is still counting to millions to decide whether to accept the independence of the two republics in the North Caucasus, because such a move would trigger the other Russian colonized republics, territories, and regions that are yearning for freedom and self-determination, such as Chechnya, Circassia, Dagestan, Tatarstan, North Ossetia and others, which they would take that as an example which will encourage them to declare independence that will put Putin’s Russia under the challenge and the pressure of peoples’ right to chose their own destiny, future, and fate. Kosovo should be congratulated and protected by the civilized world.

Marcus Aurelius said: “Without a purpose, nothing should be done”, and Benjamin Mays said: “The tragedy of life doesn’t lie in not reaching your goal. The tragedy lies in having no goal to reach”.
