At least seven people, including several policemen, were killed and 18 were injured Tuesday evening in two suicide bombings in Gronzîi, the capital of Chechnya, Russian agencies announced, citing the Chechen authorities. Chechen President Ramzan Kadyrov said during an emergency meeting that "five policemen, an official of the Ministry for Emergency Situations and a civilian” were killed in two separate explosions, while 18 people were hospitalized.
According to a local police official, the attacks were committed by two kamikaze.
The first explosion was heard when police tried to arrest a suspicious man to check his ID. The second explosion took place later.
