A mass grave was discovered recently in Tangi-Chu, Urus-Martan district of the Caucasus Emirate Chechnya Province.
Two Russian occupation units were stationed near Tangi-Chu in 2000: 160th Tank Regiment under command of colonel the murderer Budanov, and 245th Motorised Rifle Regiment, dubbed by local villagers "Shamanov regiment", by the name of the then commander of the "united federal military grouping" Vladimir Shamanov. After the both regiments moved away later in 2000, Tangi-Chu residents discovered a mass grave on the territory of the "Shamanov regiment". The grave contained 77 decomposed bodies. Those bodies were reburied by the villagers in two other locations, an official at the Chechen ombudsman office told Kommersant.
Tangi-Chu residents kept the two reburial sites in secret, because they feared reprisal from Russian invaders. Only in 2009 they decided to show the grave to Chechen puppet authorities. The grave contains ...
