По подозрению в шпионаже в пользу России в Грузии арестованы 20 человек. Об этом сообщает Reuters со ссылкой на источники в силовых структурах Грузии. Между тем, как заявил глава информационно аналитического центра МВД страны Шота Утиашвили, ведомство эту информацию не комментирует. При этом он не опроверг данные о задержании подозреваемых в шипонаже. Он лишь добавил, что детали этого дела власти обнародуют 5 ноября на специальной пресс-конференции. Напомним, в октябре 2006 года спецслужбы Грузии арестовали российских военнослужащих. Их обвинили в шпионаже в пользу Москвы и впоследствии выдали России. Именно после этого скандала отношения между странами испортились. Москва ввела экономическое эмбарго на грузинскую продукцию и прекратила выдачу виз гражданам Грузии. Кроме того, из российских городов началось массовое выдворение грузин. Дипотношения между Тбилиси и Москвой были разорваны уже после войны 2008 года.
