Documents on Kondopoga disorders recognized falsified

The Supreme Court of Karelia, where the trial on criminal case on Kondopoga disorders continues, has announced the results of the handwriting examination, which have confirmed the fact of falsification of some procedural documents.

The press service of the Supreme Court has reported that the examination showed that the signatures of the lady-translator who had translated the case materials into the Chechen language, were not made by her.

It follows from the conclusion of the examination, which was announced today by Judge Alexander Zaitsev, "the signatures made on the decisions on attraction as defendants of January 21, 2007, do not belong to Dakaeva, Aminat Makhmudovna, but where affixed by some other person after some preliminary exercising. Also, the signature on the decision to appoint her as translator does not belong to her."

Earlier Ms Dakaeva was summoned to the Court and stated that the signatures under the documents had been made by some other person.

Andrei Vorobyov, Supreme Court's spokesman said that the Court was going to find out the origin From: MSN NicknameEagle_wng  (Original Message)    Sent: 8/17/2008 4:27 AM

Bush: “Unacceptable in 21st Century”

Russia’s “brutal escalation” of attacks against Georgia has jeopardized Russia’s relationship with the United States and European nations, President George Bush said on Monday. “Such an action is unacceptable in the 21st century,” he said.

Bush demanded that Russia stop its military operations in Georgia. In Bush’s words, the conflict with Georgia has damaged Russia’s standing in international politics, and has placed its relations with Europe and the US at risk.

Bush said evidence suggests Russia may be preparing to depose Georgia’s government. “Russia must reverse the course it appears to be on and accept this peace agreement as a first step in resolving this conflict,” Bush said.

Deputy State Department spokesman Robert Wood said the US hoped the UN Security Council will make the point that these attacks have to stop. Russia needs to stand down, he said. “We are calling on Russia to stop its aggression.”

Russia to Continue Mission Until Logical End

Russia will bring the peacekeeping mission in [South Ossetia] to its logical conclusion, Vladimir Putin vowed. He said Russia will not be distracted from enforcing peace in the region. “I regret that some of our partners are not helping us but in fact are trying to impede us,” he added.

“What is striking is not the cynicism of the politicians. Politicians are as a rule cynical, but the scale of their cynicism: the ability to present black as white, the ability to present the aggressor as the victim and the victim as the aggressor and to put responsibility on the victims,” Putin said.
