The official reference of the presidents of Kabardino-Balkaria and Adygeya А.B. Kanokov and А.К. Tkhakushinov, to population of the republics in connection with 144th anniversary of the ending of the Russian-Caucasian war.

The reference of the Adygeya president

Dear inhabitants of Adygeya Republic! Dear compatriots!

Today we commemorate the Day of memory of victims of the Caucasian war.

We shall save in our hearts the memory about those who had lost in that ruthless war. And today, almost 1,5 centuries later, we suffer from the pain of that irreplaceable loss.

Ours compatriots, who are living more than in 50 countries all over the world, grieve together with us. And each of us will always remember that there is nothing dearer than peace and friendship among the peoples.

The interethnic harmony is the real riches, and we firmly believe that neither in the present, nor in the future it will be sacrificed for anybody's ambitions, political or economic interests.

Today Adygeya Republic became the native land for representatives of many nationalities. They have the opportunity to live and to work on this beneficial land, to grow their children, to teach and to study, to save and multiply the cultural heritage.

The lessons of the Caucasian war demand from us to be wise in our considered decisions, to have benevolent and unbiassed relationships to each other. Only the mutual respect is capable to help us to save further in our republic conditions of peace, public harmony and stability.

We sincerely wish you, dear compatriots, strong health, well-being and heartfelt warmth! Let peace and calmness be in your homes!

The president of Adygeya Republic А.К.Tkhakushinov.

The reference of the president of Kabardino-Balkaria

Dear compatriots!

On May 21 the people of Kabardino-Balkaria, Adygs all over the world commemorate the sad date û the 144th anniversary of the ending of the Caucasian war.

The years pass, the generations change, but the memory of those old events returns to us again and again. The main tragic result of the war for Adygs was that rather numerous in those times people had undergone to exile from the native ground and in its majority appeared to be dispersed worldwide. In essence the physical existence of the ethnos was threatened.

Bending our heads for the memory of the victims of the Caucasian war, we give due to those, who despite of all the troubles and heavy trials saved the historical native land, we are proud of that Adygeyan people has not disappeared, and, on the contrary, has got stronger, developed its spiritual and creative potential.

Looking back, we should also remember that the Caucasian war was the only black page in the centuries-old history of the mutual relationship of Kabardino-Balkaria and Russia. Not so long time ago we had solemnly celebrated the 450th anniversary of the voluntary association of Kabardino-Balkaria in the structure of the Russian state. The celebrating of that significant date made a new pulse of consolidation of our community, strengthening of the unity of the people of Kabardino-Balkaria, has shown brightly and convincingly its fidelity to the once given oath "Forever with Russia".

I believe, the people of Kabardino-Balkaria in the united multinational family of the peoples of Russian Federation will continue making its way to the economic prosperity and the high life standards.

On this day I want to wish the inhabitants of my native Kabardino-Balkaria, all Adygs peace, kindness and well-being.

The president of Kabardino-Balkarian Republic А.B.Kanokov
