From correspondents in Moscow

TWO people were killed and one injured when unidentified assailants opened fire overnight on a taxi carrying Russian soldiers in the southern Russian republic of Ingushetia, Interfax news agency reported.
It quoted police sources as saying: "A serviceman and a taxi driver were killed and a second serviceman was wounded."
Ingushetia is adjacent to the restless, mainly Muslim Russian republic of Chechnya. Though less troubled, it has also been the scene of killings and clashes between pro-Chechen rebels and Russian government forces.
