Russia says it regrets beating of Poles in Moscow
WARSAW : Poland reported that a Russian minister had said that he regretted and deplored a series of attacks in recent days on Poles living in Moscow.
The foreign ministry in Warsaw quoted Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Valery Loschinin as telling his Polish counterpart Andrzej Zalucki in a phone call initiated by Moscow that "the Russian police were doing their best to arrest and put on trial the perpetrators of the attacks."
Relations between the two neighbours deteriorated after the mugging and beating of three teenage children of Russian diplomats and their Kazakh friend in a Warsaw park on July 31 - an incident that Putin termed "an unfriendly act."
Polish police later charged two men with possession of mobile phones stolen from the teenagers in the incident.
The Russian government approved a Foreign Ministry proposal Saturday to pull out of a border treaty signed earlier with Estonia.
Prime Minister Mikhail Fradkov signed a decree approving the Foreign Ministry's proposal on notifying Estonia of Russia's intention to withdraw from a treaty on the Russian-Estonian border and a treaty on the delimitation of maritime territories in the Gulf of Narva and the Gulf of Finland, the government press service said.
The two treaties were signed in Moscow on May 18.
The government decided to suggest to the president that the notification be forwarded to Tallinn, the press service said.
The Foreign Ministry said in June it would be impossible to submit the border treaties for ratification by the parliament following changes the Estonian parliament made to its preamble, which alluded to Soviet occupation of the Baltic nation, during ratification.

As it was informed earlier, plenipotentiary of the president of Russia Kozak criticized the pro-Moscow officials in the Caucasian republics in his known letter, which became public due to the mass-media. In the letter Kozak repeated in a softer form on what the so-called "information resources of separatists" daily inform. The given fact was noticed also by the puppets on the places, concerned with unknown reaction of the Kremlin and probable change of the course. As always Dagestan puppets were especially "simple". A Dagestan oppositional edition was accused of… Vahhabism and complicity to terrorism for the publication of the Kozak's letter.
There are many other proofs of that the Russian politics in the Caucasus has great problems. The sensational interview of Beslan Gantamirov to the " Arguments and Facts" is from the same series , as continuation of his opposition with Kadyrov. The ... >>full
TBILISI, August 9 (Itar-Tass) -- A military column from the Russian military base in Akhalkalaki is withdrawing from Georgia to Russia. The withdrawal of the column was initially scheduled for August 6 and then on August 8, but it happened to be impossible, as the Terek river had washed out the road between the Georgian checkpoint Daryali and the Russian checkpoint Verkhniy Lars. Georgian and Russian highway repairmen have completed necessary restoration works by Tuesday so that heavy-duty vehicles could go on the road.
The column of five command post vehicles left Mtskheta and went on the Military Georgian highway to the Russian border and then to Prokhladnoye in Kabardino-Balkaria.
Several Russian and Georgian vehicles that will not pass the border and will come back are escorting the Russian military column. http://itar-tass.com/eng/level2.html?NewsID=2301383&PageNum=0
