Recent statement of Adygeya president Khazret Sovmen to the newspaper "Kommersant" that as the reason of his intention to retire was disagreement with Adygeya’s integration with Krasnodar territory (on which the plenipotentiary of the President of Russian Federation in the SFD Dmitry Kozak, as he said, insisted) caused negative reaction of the public of Kabardino-Balkaria.

"We are very much concerned with that such question has been put at all, - Valery Hatazhukov, the head of the republican legal expert center declared in the interview to "Caucasian unit". - Till this moment we’ve thought that certain forces inside of the republic inspired the question of Adygeya’s integration with Krasnodar territory. Russia: Mixing Oil and Politics
Publication time: 28 March 2007, 08:59

The finale of Russia's bankrupt oil company Yukos began March 27 with the auction of the last of its assets. Competition over the assets between two large companies -- Russia's oil mammoth Rosneft and natural gas giant Gazprom -- has gotten fierce and is beginning to fracture Vladimir Putin's inner circle. The solution, devised during an impromptu meeting of that inner circle March 24-25, might not make either company happy, but it creates the balance Putin needs as he prepares to leave office.

Bankrupt Russian oil company Yukos began auctioning the last of its property -- approximately four big chunks and several smaller assets -- on March 27. A subsidiary of Russian oil mammoth Rosneft acquired Yukos' 9.44 percent stake in Rosneft. Rosneft's bid countered a bid from British-Russian oil firm TNK-BP, a company ...

CAUCASIAN KNOT / NEWS

Russia would not recognize South Ossetian alternative government

Russia is calling Tbilisi to give up its plans of legitimizing the alternative government in South Ossetia and to take a constructive stand concerning development of the negotiation process on Georgian-Ossetian settlement. This is the topic of the comment made by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) of the Russian Federation (RF) in connection, as the document gives it, "with the propaganda campaign unfolded by Georgia around Sanakoev's puppet government."

"The Russian MFA is alarmed when observing the massed propaganda campaign gaining momentum in Tbilisi around the so-called 'Dmitry Sanakoev's movement'," the comment runs.

"The aim of the campaign is obvious: to create in the eyes of a not-too-much-experienced home or foreign observer a visible respectability for this group of agents, which was generated by Georgian special agencies and planted into one of Georgian ...

Sokhum propose Russian shield in Abkhazia
Abkhazian President Sergey Bagapsh proposed to plant anti-aircraft missile system in Abkhazia against 's plan of transferring anti-aircraft missile system and radar system, which was going to be planted in Czech Republic and to Trans-Caucasus.

Bagapsh personally proposed this idea at a press conference in Moscow. Bagapsh's proposal came after the support of American Congress for 's NATO bid.

" showed his will about helping and for their NATO membership. This does not scare us. Abkhaz independence will be recognized as soon as joins to NATO" said Abkhazian leader about Gerorgia's possible adoption to NATO. Bagapsh also stressed that NATO would accept without Abkhazia and South Osetia. He called as a 'hostile country' and claimed that Tbilisi was preparing for war against Abkhazia.

U.S. House of Representatives had voted in favor of a bill about 's and 's bids ...
