Putin: Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan ready to create CES 10.04.2006, 15.09 MOSCOW, April 10 (Itar-Tass) - President Vladimir Putin has said that Russia, Belarus and Kazakhstan were ready to form a common economic space (CES). “Our Ukrainian partners know well both at an expert level and at the level of the country’s political leadership that we shall consider as the joining of the CEC not the signing of a part of documents, but of the whole package,” Putin said at a government meeting on Monday. Putin criticized Minister of Industry and Energy Viktor Khristenko for delaying the establishment of the Common Economic Space and demanded that this work be expedited. Mass grave discovered in Grozny contains bodies of guerrillas and civilians By Umalt Chadayev CHECHNYA - In early April it was reported that a mass grave had been discovered in the grounds of Kirov Park, in Grozny’s Leninsky district. The remains of a total of 57 people have been extracted from the place. According to representatives of the law enforcement agencies, six bodies have not yet been identified. I am writing for this American newspaper on a subject that one can no longer write about in Russia -- islamskiy terrorizm, or Islamic terrorism cases. There are hundreds of such cases going through the courts in our country. Most of them have been fabricated by the government so that the special services can demonstrate how "effective" Russia is in fighting terrorism and so that President Vladimir Putin has something with which to impress the West. Close examination of these cases shows that many interrogation records have been tampered with and that the documents containing so-called honest confessions were obtained through the torture of innocent suspects who are being punished for the actions of Chechen separatist Shamil Basayev.
