MOSCOW, April 26l 26 (Itar-Tass) - Defence Minister Sergei Ivanov said the Russian Black Sea Fleet would remain in Ukraine until 2017.

“If your talk about the Black Sea Fleet, we have agreed to continue the work on details of the basic accords of 1997 with an understanding that the Russian Black Sea Fleet will be based in the Crimea and will continue its activity,” Ivanov told reporters after his talks with Ukrainian counterpart Anatoly Gritsenko in Moscow on Tuesday.

He was asked whether the Black Sea Fleet violated any accords with Ukraine.

“As concerns some violations, they can be only when there are clear regulations as to what such violations are,” Ivanov said.

He said “many questions have not found any solution at all in the 1997 accords, and “we have given orders on finalisation of the accords”.

Chisinau: protest outside the Russian embassy
Chisinau
Chisinau
MOLDAVIA, Chisinau (own corr). A demonstration took place today 20 April outside the Russian embassy in Chisinau. It consisted of people from various political and non-governmental organisations, as well as relatives of two people, Tudor Petrova-Popa and Andrei Ivantsok, who are being held in detention in Tiraspol.

The demonstrators waved Moldavian and EU flags while demanding the two men be released from the custody of the Tiraspol regime. According to the participants, the protest occurred outside the Russian embassy, as the European court of human rights had recognised that Russia was responsible (for human rights) in the Transdnestr region.

Andrei Ivantsok and Tudor Petrov-Popa were arrested by the Transdnestr authorities on 2 June 1992 as part of the so-called Ivashku Group. They were accused of terrorism, and more specifically of killing a policeman. Their term of imprisonment will be completed in two years.

The protest took ...

The Chechen Times: A Guided Flight

A guided flight

The recent inner-party «initiatives» of members of the pro-Putin «United Russia» party have cause a stronger reaction than its organizers expected. Within several days the United Russia’s bear gave birth to «a right» wing, and then «a left» wing. Both «wings» made almost the same statements about the party’s «unity» and admissibility of discussions within the party. After that Boris Gryzlov, the party’s zits-chairman, took the floor and even newcomers to politics might have understood that all these initiatives had a propagandistic nature.

Both, the right and the left wing almost did not contradict each other and on major issues their positions appeared to be so close that Gryzlov’s anger lacked persuasiveness. So, expressing «concerns» over some «political tendencies," «the wings» swore loyalty to «Putin’s reforms» (what is basically the same), and expressed their love and admiration to Putin and it was high time to publish a lyrical collection.

Clearly, ...

To devour before the death…

(The comment concerning…)

In studying of Russia , I also consider myself to be the poet, who in powerlessness uttered, "You can not understand with mind, you can not measure it with arshin", it is said about Russia . Well, for example, how such should be “understood-measured”, "For solving of the problem of deficiency of weight at recruits it is necessary to create dispensaries for during a month "to make the guys normal". Such an opinion was expressed by the military commissioner of the Novosibirsk region General-major Gennady Nahaev (RIA " Siberia ”).

I understand, if gun meat is prepared for a job to clean toilets before arrival of strict and captious Main Toilet-Director of Russia Putin, - then there would be some sense in it, they would look well-fad and appetizing. But is there any difference for candidates for the cargo-200, whether they are thick ...
