Central Asia still remains a highly important region for Russia without which it cannot exist
After the official withdrawal of the US army base in Khanabad, Uzbekistan, and the republic's re-orientation to Russia, it becomes clear that Russia has been concentrating more and more of its attention in the region of Central Asia. Krasnodar militiamen assisted at Nalchik inhabitant’s confinement 26.11.2005
Employees of the Krasnodar special militia troop (OMON) being with official journey in Nalchik had assisted a local inhabitant during her child birthing. As IА REGNUM informed, recently they developed breadboard model of the monument devoted to "founders" of Novorossisk city Nikolay Raevsky, Lazar Serebryakov and Michael Lazarev. Its author Alexander Suvorov presented his work of art to the major of Novorossisk city and the expert group arrived from the regional center and headed by the main architect of Kuban Jury Rysin.
In the press-service of Novorossisk administration they told that the main architect of Kuban accepted the invitation of the chapter of city of Novorossisk, and was not disappointed with what he saw. Actually he liked the breadboard model of the future monument to "legendary founders of city". Experts of the regional commission gave recommendations on height of its pedestal and ornamenting of the columns. In Zugdidsky area of Georgia they burnt breadboard model of Russian tank
25.11.2005<O:P></O:P> In the Georgian-Abkhazian conflict zone a protest action with requirement of removal the Russian peace-making forces from the territory of Abkhazia passed. As IА REGNUM correspondent informed, the action passed near the local "the blue helmets" staff in village Urta of Zugdidsky area of Georgia and in it approximately 100 people among which there were local residents and representatives of Georgian nongovernmental organizations took part.
Participants of the action held posters with a picture of Russian solder having hidden his head in sand and inscription "Position", slogans "Peacemakers, go out!" and so on; and in the end of the action they burnt a breadboard model of tank with the Russian symbolics.
