"Adyghe Khase": Kosovo’s recognition removes obstacles on way to recognition of Abkhazia’s independence
29.2.2008

The public organization "Adyghe Khase" of Abkhazia Republic considers that recognition of Kosovo’s independence by a number of the western states removed the basic obstacles on the way to recognition of the independence of Republic of Abkhazia.

As “Caucasian unit" correspondent informed, about that it had been spoken in the statement of the chairman of organization Anzor Goov, widespread on February 27.

Abkhazia, as it was stated in the document, - "asserts for long years its integral right on independence". "Adygs always supported the fair struggle of the Abkhazian people for freedom, its aspiration to save close communications with Russia and the brotherly peoples of Northern Caucasus. This position of Abkhazia always served a factor of stability in our region", - Goov emphasized.

In that connection the public organization "Adyghe Khase" Republic of Abkhazia addressed to the administration of Russia with appeal to recognize independence of Republic of Abkhazia and to establish with it the direct inter-state relations.

That step, in the opinion of the leader of the organization, "will unconditionally correspond to the principles of justice and will serve to stabilization of situation in Caucasus".

"The Georgian administration should not have doubts that the peoples of Northern Caucasus and South of Russia would not leave Abkhazia in loneliness and would stand for its protection in a case of new aggression. We address to "Adyghe Khase" all over the world with appeal to activate activities with the purpose of recognition by their governments independence of Abkhazia", - it was emphasized in the statement.

Abkhazia, according to the chief of the organization, "has friends and allies enough in Russia and abroad, with which they should conduct coordinated joint work".

"And in this crucial period we hope that the administration of Abkhazia would apply great efforts, as well as in Russia, and on the international arena for achievement of the overall objective of the Abkhazian people - recognition of Apsny independence", - they emphasized in the document, under which there is the signature of the Chairman of "Adyghe Khase" of Republic of Abkhazia Anzor Goov.

Let's note, the public organization "Adyghe Khase" of Republic of Abkhazia was founded in December, 2007. The purposes and tasks of the organization, according to its chairman Anzor Goov, are "integration of the peoples of Northern Caucasus, protection of their cultural-ethnic and socio economic rights and interests, preservation of originality of the Northern- Caucasian peoples".
