Here's a little known story I found on the Internet trying to learn about the present day conflict between the Russians and Chechen s.. You might not be aware Bill Clinton, president of the United States Savior of Kosovo and hero of the Balkans may have personally been involved in one of the most infamous and shameful under the table political deals in History. The question is did an American President, a multinational corporation headed by a ruthless, unethical business tycoon and a Russian President come together to validate Russia's war in Chechnya to balance the scales for American led NATO's war in Kosovo and create a giant market to sell chickens to Russians ? Bill Clinton like all American politicians must have enough money to campaign for the office he is seeking. Early in Clinton's career he was bankrolled by three large influential corporations with headquarters in the state of Arkansas, WalMart Inc, Stephens and Tyson Foods, Inc. Arkansas was where Clinton was born and where he ran for Governor before he developed national aspirations to run for President of the United States. In other words you scratch my political "back" and I'll scratch your business "back" Its been recognized for years how big business and big government have worked hand in hand to influence the affairs of the United States. In Bill Clinton case he was heavily in debt to Sam Walton, CEO and creator of Wall-Mart,, Warren Stephens CEO of investment banking firm, Stephens, Inc and John Tyson Chairman of Tyson Food Inc. All three corporations had a controversial history of tax leniency, payoffs and other perks due to their association with former Governor Bill Clinton who kept their financial support when he ran two terms for President of the United States. If this was simply a story of 3 billionaires using their political connection to Bill Clinton to make more money and have more power the story would end here. But there was a summit meeting in 1995 in Egypt between Bill Clinton and President Boris Yeltsin where world events were discussed that had possible repercussions for the people of Chechnya. Pat of that discussion became known as the "Chickens for Chechen's" affair because Bill Clinton decided to support Yeltsin's war policy in Chechnya if the President of Russia would use his power and influence to end the embargo of polluted American chicken giving Tyson Foods, Inc 90% of the booming profitable Russian market. As American journalist Doug Ireland of "City Pages" wrote "Clinton gave Yeltsin a blank check to kill as many Chechen s as he wanted, provided the Russians bought Don Tyson's dirty chickens"
Let me put this affair in my own words. So the Presidents of the largest and most powerful states on the planet became two sneaky crooks that hatched a deal with a greedy, ruthless billionaire to sell millions of chickens and let thousands die, rebels and innocent civilians, in far away country the size of Wales that most Americans know virtually nothing about.

And to seal the deal President Clinton either through his own ignorance of history or trying to hide his crimes from the American people told the press Yeltsin fighting Chechen rebels was like our hero and legend, Abraham Lincoln righting our civil war to keep the American nation united. I keep wondering why Clinton made such a stupid statement. Did Boris take him out on the town and the Vodka got the better of both of them ? Mr, President, you said the Russian army fighting break away Chechnya is the same as the Federal government of the United States fighting the break away sates of the Southern Confederacy ? Hell, no. We We were basically the same ethnic group,with the majority of Americans being of British descent, we spoke the same language, English, almost every Americans were Protestant Christians and with the exception of the South's economy dependent on slavery came from the same frontier culture. The Chechens on the other hand are a distinct ethnic group with an ancient history and lineage of living in the Caucasus, almost all are Muslims as contrasted with Orthodox Christian Russia and they have a unique culture that has roots in its own history with the only shared relationship with Russia is a centuries long history of oppression, attempted assimilation, and war. I can't help but be thunderstruck by the irony of Bill Clinton defying the Russians by using military might to rescue the ethnically unique and defiant Albanians of the Balkans and then turning around and by words and no action dooming another ethnically unique and defiant people, the Chechens.of the Caucasus.
As an American with history and culture of loving freedom and independence I am ashamed and angry with my government in their complicity with the Russian Government in their war of cultural, religious and ethnic cleansing of the Chechen people.
