Putin became a subject of ridicule for Hillary Clinton when she emerged in her New Hampshire part of the election campaign critical of U.S. President George W. Bush for his foreign policies and accused him of taking Putin seriously because Putin was, according to Ms. Clinton, soulless since he had a KGB background.
