08.09.2007, 02.07
MOSCOW, September 8 (Itar-Tass) - Solemn ceremonies will be held in Moscow Saturday in remembrance of the people who died in an atrocious terrorist bombing of an apartment block in southeast Moscow in 1999.
Like in all the years since the tragedy that carried away a multi-apartment block at 19, Guryanov Street, relatives of the dead, residents of neighboring houses, officials of the local municipality and city administration, and many other sympathetic Muscovites will come to a commemorative stele standing at the site of the demolished building.
Since the bombing that took away the lives of 106 people occurred on the night from Setpember 8 to September 9, the remembrance ceremonies will begin at 23:00 hours. At midnight sharp, participants in the action will have a minute’s silence and lay flowers to the monument.
Also at midnight, a special remembrance service will start in the Church of Our Lady the Consolation of All the Afflicted that was built in memory of those who died at 19, Guryanov Street.
The commemorative service will be followed by a liturgy.
