From: MSN NicknameEagle_wng (Original Message) Sent: 10/19/2006 1:28 PM Russian Invaders Extort Money From Occupied Chechens Publication time: Today at 12:14 Djokhar time According to a report from the Prague Watch Dog Web site, the Russian invaders'"Kavkaz" pass control checkpoint (KPP) located on the border between Chechnya and Ingushetia, Russian troops are collecting tribute from drivers and their passengers.
The "Kavkaz" checkpoint (or "block-post" as local residents call it) has not enjoyed a favourable reputation in the last few years. The Russian gang's "Interior ministry" troops on criminal activities here are posted from different regions of Russia. They used to collect tribute - with and without pretext - from residents of both Caucasian Muslim states traveling in both directions. They even developed a unique "price list".
Thus, each minibus driver had to pay the Russian gangsters 20-30 rubles. And almost every young male who passed through this checkpoint usually put a folded 10-ruble note into his passport, which was to be checked by the invaders. This was done "just in case", to avoid unwanted excesses.
The absence of a "military registration stamp" in an ID paper "cost" 50 rubles. There were numerous other "violations" for which ordinary citizens had to pay tribute. If they refused to pay there could be serious trouble, ranging from an increase in the sum of the "fine" all the way to detention.
Chechen and Ingush populace is subjected to mass terror by the Russians . People don't have any rights, and the invaders can so anything they like. Detaining people without any reason, searching them, beating them and killing them. All attempts at protest are cut short in a most merciless and often brutal manner. People are forced to put up with this arbitrary treatment, because they have no alternative. They are simply afraid, and one can understand why.
