Aug 8 2005 2:19PM Berlin to build strategic partnership with Russia - ambassador
MOSCOW. Aug 8 (Interfax) - New German Ambassador to Russia Walter Jurgen Schmidt confirmed Berlin wishes to develop its strategic partnership with Moscow at a meeting with Russian First Deputy Foreign Minister Valery Loshchinin.
"Ahead of the German parliamentary elections on September 18, the ambassador dwelt on certain aspects of the internal political situation in Germany and stressed the invariable adherence of Berlin to the successive policy of strategic partnership with Russia," according to a Russian Foreign Ministry report received by Interfax on Monday.
