A Monument of the Devil is Going to be Put in Kazan
Now in Kazan and Tatarstan this question - the planned construction of a monument to Peter I - is put point-blank to Peter I an edge. Therefore it is necessary to answer it clearly and precisely - "yes" or "not". First of all, we shall name the historic facts:
1. Peter I had never been to Kazan and did not do anything good for Kazan and the Kazan province, for peoples of Bulgar-Tatars living here, Russians and all others: Bashkirs, Chuvashs, Maris, Mordvs, Udmurts and Komis, living in consent and friendship for a lot of centuries.
2. According to his instruction the heavy duty, known in history as lashmanstvo, was approved. Peasants were obliged to cut woods and to take them out by their horses for construction of the military ships. Because of extremely heavy working conditions, many thousands of lashmans died because of accidents and illnesses, and their families - wives, children, old men - suffered with famine, having remained without the supporter.
3. For construction of Saint Petersburg the best experts - builders, carpenters, masons, roofers and handymen were mobilized and kidnapped from their native places. Many of them were lost in the Petersburg bogs, because of intolerable conditions, famine, cold, illnesses. S.-Petersburg is constructed on bones of our ancestors.
4. Peter's excessive cruelty is known - he personally participated in the execution of displeased archers as the executioner.
5. A. Pushkin and L. Tolstoy wrote about such "sins" of Peter, that we consider it to be indecent to write about them.
6. Being fond of wars, Peter I ordered to remove bells from churches and to make guns of them. The orthodox clergy declared, “Peter I is not a tsar, but a devil”.
To those, who are going to put a monument of this "devil" in Kazan , we answer: "No” to a monument of Peter I in Kazan !
Dear citizens! Think, whether we live so well, whether the life in Russia is so good, that it is time to put monuments of such people, as Peter I? Who needs this monument and for what? What is the sense and moral value of this monument?
For the 21 st of July, 2005 , it is planned to organize a religious procession in Kazan led by patriarch Alexei II in connection with returning of a copy of the icon of the Kazan Divine Mother. Under the sign of this icon the violent christening of Moslems and pagans of the Kazan territory was carried out (Bulgar-Tatars, Bashkirs, Chuvashs, Maris, Mordvs, Udmurts, Komis), accompanied with death penalty of the people, who did not wish to be christened. There were armies together with orthodox priests. There were cases, when the population of whole villages was liquidated.
Taking into account the bitter facts of history, we declare the resolute protest to returning of this icon to Kazan and to the religious procession carrying this icon. A protest action against it is prepared in Kazan headed by the chairman of the VTOC Yunus Kamalutdinov.
The Chechen Republic Ichkeria is in ruins; about 250 thousand of Chechens are killed, including about 50 thousand of children. Patriarch Alexei II has not stated any word to stop the fratricidal Russo-Chechen war though in this war tens thousand of Russian militaries were lost, wounded, crippled physically and morally and the strongest impact on the international prestige of Russia has been put.
The application is approved at the city assembly of the NCO of the TOTC 11.07.05.

From the edition “Chechenpress”: Chechens have no slightest bases to consider the Russian - Chechen war to be "fratricidal", as Russian colonizers and murderers have never been and will never be brothers to us. As far as the old agent of the KGB "Drozdov", known to the public as “patriarch Alexei II”, is concerned, by virtue of his official duties, he could not call to stop the murder of people in the war, unleashed by the security officers' junta in the Chechen Republic . Absolutely on the contrary, the agent of the KGB "Drozdov" has publicly justified the intrusion into the Chechen Republic and when he was said, that in the Chechen Republic peace people were lost, he answered, “In the apartment houses blown up by terrorists there also were peace people”. Though, as an old agent of the KGB, he should have known what everybody knows now: the explosions of apartment houses in the Russian cities in autumn 1999 were arranged by employees of the FSB of the Russian Federation , who then were detained at enclosing of an explosive under a house in Ryazan .
