On July 18, Circassians activists from several countries, including Russia’s North Caucasus, called on the Circassian and Caucasian organizations to focus on helping the Syrian Circassians. The Circassians in the North Caucasus celebrate August 1 as Repatriate’s Day, and the celebrations this year are bound to be celebrated with an ever greater sense of urgency because of the Syrian crisis. The conference "Sochi 2014 Olympic Games and Georgian_Circassian
Eco-cultural Environment” is a follow-up
of the Genocide recognition of the Georgian Parliament which will focus on the
following:
(1)-Identifying
the next steps needed to obtain international recognition of the Genocide and Deportation of the Circassians in the
19th century. And, addressing the Genocide as a continuing tragedy until
today affecting all Circassians profoundly inside and outside Circassia.
(2)-It is also designed to oppose and find peaceful and non-violent ways
to stop Russia from holding the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi as it is one of
the sites of the Circassian Genocide. The following objectives will be focused on:
A- Sochi and its
surrounding areas is a site of the Circassian Genocide.
B-The effect of the Sochi

The visitor from Jordan reportedly came to Adygea to explore the situation in the republic and make inquiries as to whether the Adygean authorities were prepared to accept Circassian refugees from Syria. Sobrok informed the Adygean officials that Jordan’s King Abdullah II was willing to help all Syrian Circassians fleeing Syria, including those who wanted to relocate to the North Caucasus. Sobrok reportedly stated that the Jordanian authorities do not put obstacles in the way of Syrian Circassians escaping violence from that country by crossing into neighboring Jordan.
