A Fair Step Forward, May, 2011

A special article used to be posted every year in this site on the 21st of May every year, which is attached to the Circassian Memorial Day, to memorize the atrocities inflicted by Tsarist Russian Imperial Empire, and to evaluate the ongoing disastrous consequences.

This special event that is directly connected to 21, May, 1864, has legally evolved through legislative channels from Tbilisi, the capital city of the Caucasian Republic of Georgia, after more than one year of studying the request that was presented by Circassians in March, 2010, in regard to recognizing the Circassian Genocide that had taken place against the Circassian nation in the nineteenth Century.

The Parliament of Georgian had formed the past year studying and analyzing frames and bodies through several committees and assisted by scholars, historians and scientists who referred to deeds beyond doubt ...

The Parliament of Georgia

Tbilisi, Georgia
Rustaveli Avenue, 8

His Excellency, the Chairman of the Parliament of Georgia, Esquire,
Distinguished Assistants to the Chairman of the Parliament of Georgia,

Dear Distinguished Members of Parliament of the Georgian Parliament.

We would like to begin this letter to send warmest greetings to His Excellency the President of the Republic of Georgia Mr. Mikheil Saakashvili, Esquire, the Friendly Government of Georgia and the Great Georgian people

Circassia has emerged on the 20th of May, 2011, which is the approach of the day of the end of the 147th year of the end of the Russian/Caucasian War, with limitless human concern and sympathy gesture, when the Caucasian State of Georgia has decided to recognize the Circassian Genocide that had been forgotten by the close and distant, and criminals had mistakenly thought that they had managed to get away with their heinous crime against the Circassian (Adigha) nation, and the entire ...

Message Of IAA To The Deputies Of The Georgian Parliament

0118, Tbilisi, Georgia
Rustaveli Avenue № 8, the Georgian Parliament

Dear ladies and gentlemen deputies!

We appeal to you to recognize the Circassian Genocide committed by Russian government in the XVIII-XIX centuries, during and after the Russian-Circassian War 1763-1864 years, when more than 95% of the population formerly prosperous country were either destroyed or forcibly relocated to the Ottoman Empire.

The underlying ideology of this war was a genocidal - one of only a slogan "without Circassia Circassian" often found in the documents of the king's generals, which is worth it! And do not recognize today the genocide by Georgia, next door neighbor back home Circassians, would support the position that time, and today's Russia, in this unredeemed egregious crimes against humanity.

The question of genocide began to rise in the scattered Russian-Circassian War Worldwide Circassian diaspora in the first decades of the XX century. Then the question ...

Sudden Russian Conferences On Circassia

Throughout imperial history, occupying and colonizing countries that assume domination and practice of absolute rule and authority in order to change the reality, features and landmarks in all walks of life of the colonized nations aim to the farthest extent possible, from the outset to the exclusion of the indigenous people to bear the responsibility for governing themselves by themselves, unless the subjugated nation opposes such authoritarian policy, which tend to force and compel the greedy and covetous State to comply with ambitions to the demands of freedom to choose own destiny that necessarily would lead to independence.

Circassia among others in the North Caucasus and elsewhere being one of those above-mentioned victims that were not constituency concluded beside the presence of a group of Circassians proudly adherent to their Circassian identity and belonging with what their conscience and national duty dictate to them in recent years Russia did not ...

MP: 'Significant Number of MPs in Favor of Recognizing Circassian Genocide'
Civil Georgia, Tbilisi / 11 May.'11

There is "a significant lobby” within the Georgian Parliament pushing for recognizing 19th century massacre and deportations of Circassians by the Tsarist Russia in the northwest Caucasus as "genocide,” a ruling party lawmaker told on May 11.

The Parliament may take decision on the issue during the current spring session, said MP Nugzar Tsiklauri, who chairs the parliamentary committee on diaspora and Caucasus issues.

He said that the committee would hold a hearing tentatively on Friday to listen "to final conclusion of academic circles” on this issue and after that the matter would move on the phase of "political decision.”

"I will not hide, that there is a serious and a significant lobby within the Parliament. There are a significant number of lawmakers who are in favor to positively decide this issue,” MP Tsiklauri said.

A group of Georgian ...
