Appeal of Circassian Youth Forum of Moscow about KBR lands

The Circassian Youth forum of Moscow, held on November, 25th by Public organization “Khabzaem i nur”, expressed its disagreement with the actions of the state authorities and members of the Parliament of Kabardino-Balkaria from October, 31st, 2009 on adoption of the bill “About amendments in Law of KBR “About status and borders of municipal formations in KBR”. Such decision causes increase of the interethnic tensions and creates a threat of serious interethnic conflict. Though for today we are compelled for the economic reasons and because of unemployment in KBR to work and to live temporarily outside our native land, we reserve the right to ourselves for participation in the political life of the republic and we hope for the future changes to the best. Protest actions of Sochi citizens took place in Moscow

On November, 23rd a number of the public actions of Sochi inhabitants took place in Moscow. Sochi inhabitants opposed: the compulsory eviction planned during the preparation to the Olympiad-2014; actions of the municipal and the regional authorities which had transformed the former "all-Union" resort into an object of their personal business, and which are breaking the inhabitants’ constitutional laws on the regular basis; destruction of the historical view of the town and its unique natural complex. In the beginning, the picketing of the Russian President Administration at 12:00 a.m. took place. It was assumed to hold near the Administration a series of single pickets; however the action had been interrupted by militia employees, who demanded to take away the posters as the action had not been officially declared. November, 4th in aul Beslenei of Khabezsky area, Karachaevo-Circassia,
a gathering of inhabitants in which over 500 person participated, took
place. As IА REGNUM
News correspondent reported, the orators of the gathering expressed
their protest in occasion of some publications in mass-media, devoted
to the feat of inhabitants of that village during the Great Patriotic
war. At the gathering there was the chairman of National assembly of
Karachaevo-Circassia Zurab Dokshokov, the deputy of National assembly
Vyacheslav Derev, representatives of the Karachaevo-Circassia president

August, 1942 inhabitants of Circassian aul Beslenei had sheltered at
themselves a group of Jewish children of one of children's homes of the

Circassians in Karachaevo-Cherkessia Plan Mass ProtestPublication: Eurasia Daily Monitor November 25, 2009 05:11 PM Circassians in the Republic of Karachaevo-Cherkessia have called for a national demonstration to protest against the denial of their civil, political and ethnic rights. Two demonstrations are set to take place on November 26 –the first in the town of Habez, located 18 miles to the south of Cherkessk, the capital city of KCHR, then in Lenin square in Cherkessk, in front of the republican administrational building (the local newspaper “Cherkessk,” November 17). The initiative group for the protest sent an application for a license to hold the demonstration to the Cherkessk mayor’s office on November 4. The application was denied on the basis of a governmental decree issued on November 12 announcing a national emergency in the republic because of the H1N1 virus pandemic and banning any public gatherings for an indefinite period (www.09biz.ru, November 19). This appeal had been prepared by “Adyghe Khasa” of Adygeya for the meeting of November, 17th in Nalchik and read at the meeting. TO THE MEETING OF ADYGEYAN PEOPLE OF KABARDINO-BALKARIAN REPUBLIC 1. Adygs, living in Adygeya Republic, are anxious with the events occuring in Kabardino-Balkarian Republic in relation to the agrarian questions. 2. We consider any actions infringing the interests of Adygs, as unacceptable. 3. The mistakes made by the KBR authority, are a subject to correction. 4. We hope and call everybody to that the questions arising among peoples about such delicate issue as lands should be solved in the legal ways.
