“Adyghe Khasa” of Adygeya started preparing for meeting

12/25/2009 - 1:45 pm - NatPress

The executive committee “Adyghe Khasa” of Adygeya on December, 24th made a decision on carrying out of a meeting in Maykop. A protest action should be aimed against unwillingness of the state authorities of the republic to cooperate in solving the three problems: the status of Adygeyan language, illegal fixing on the territory of the republic the religious symbolics and suspension of construction of a monument to “Adygeyan people”.

Members of the executive committee present at the session voted for carrying out of such meeting unanimously. The further procedure was adoption of the decision by the council of the public organization.

Let's remind, in the demands concerned the status of Adygeyan language there is cancelling of the recently brought in the law on the language of the item on its unessential (facultative) learning in preschool and school educational establishments. The organization also demands including into the law of items providing not only the survival, but also development of the language of the indigenous people of republic.

After corresponding measures the organization found out that the religious symbolics, in particular the Orthodox crosses, were had been fixed in Adygeya in infringement of the law. The organization demands to take them down, and does not agree with that setting up of the religious symbols was legalized backdating.

The monument to “Adygeyan people” is planned to finish by the Day of Republic in 2010. However, its erection begun in May of this year was suspended then. And for today it is already possible to speak definitely that the terms are broken. For example, the certain cycle of the works on construction of the base, which cannot be carried out in the winter conditions, is not done.
