On October, 30th in the state of New Jersey, the USA, the presentation of the project Circassiad-2012 organized by the Circassian charitable association of the USA and the Circassian institute of culture of New Jersey. The presentation was lead by the author of the project Sufian Jemuhov, chairman of the historical commission of Adygeyan public organizations coordination council, the scientific expert of the program of the Euro-Asian strategic project.
Sufian Jemuhov told representatives of Circassian Diaspora of the USA that together with the other author of the project Alexey Bekshokov, chairman of the Union of Abkhazian volunteers, they had lead six presentations in Russia, including Sochi, St.-Petersburg and Moscow. To support of the project the ascention to Elbrus, the highest top of Europe had been made; the climbers took a Circassian flag which in 1993 had been fixed above the building of the Government of Abkhazia after its clearing by Circassian reconnoitering-assault group. First ambassador of Circassiad-2012 was the Union of Abkhazian volunteers. Actions of the authors of the project of Circassiad-2012 were supported by news agencies “Caucasian uzel”, “REGNUM”, Russian News service, TV-channel "MIR", as well as some foreign mass-media.
The presentation in the USA is the seventh and the first of the six presentations planned abroad. In Circassian and English languages Sufian Jemuhov told that the first Circassiad is planned to lead in Nalchik in 2012 in 12 kinds of sports within 12 days – according to the quantity of the stars on the Circassian flag, and said that the Circassian games have predecessors on behalf of the Jewish Olympic games - Makkabi (since 1932) and Pan-Armenian games (since 1999).
The leader of the action vice-president of Circassian association Khaldun Khilmi (the grandson of the former prime minister of Jordan Said Mufti) supported the project of the World Circassian games and invited all to discussion.
Janti Jemusha, chairman of the Circassian charitable association executive committee, mentioned technical questions of Circassiad’s organization, concerning reception of the Russian visa for visitors and sportsmen from the Diaspora.
Questions of financing were sounded by Mohammed Malguash, member of the executive committee of the association.
Tamara Berseko, master of the jurisprudence, mentioned the problem of recognition of the genocide of Circassians by the world community and Russia.
Dana Yusef, teacher of Circassian institute of culture, suggested including into the project the problem of assimilation of Circassians of the Diaspora as one of the most essential in the Circassian world today.
Zeid Vuuch, master of economy, made parallels between the organizational methods of the Olympiads in Sydney and Sochi, and between the Australian and Russian laws concerned the indigenous people.
Enis Malguash, the Circassian activist, wished Russia help Circassians to return home, having given them the opportunity to found new settlements as it was in relation to Mafehabl in Adygeya Republic, founded for repatriates from Kosovo in 1998.
Before the basic presentation Sufian Jemuhov met Zak Berseko, the president of Circassian institute of culture and workers of the institute for discussion questions of organization of Circassiad-2012.
In the framework of the trip to the USA on September, 25th Sufian Jemuhov acted at D. Washington University as a scientific expert of the program of the Euro-Asian strategic project with the report “Circassian Aspect of the Sochi Olympiad”. That very day he met Vitaly Zhukovets, the second secretary of Russian embassy in the USA. Vitaly Zhukovets and Sufian Jemuhov discussed questions of mutual relations of Russia and Circassian world.
