Soviet diplomats ceded the United States a huge chunk of an oil-bearing shelf in the Bering Sea due to political shortsightedness. It is unlikely that the issue would be ever settled in Russia's favour

Territorial matters are among the most serious issues in Russia's foreign policy. At first glance, these are trifles that are not worth fussing about. Once we have decided to cede someone a patch of our native land, this must be in our supreme political interests.

Yet all is not so simple. In the mid-1980s, the agenda of Russian-U.S. relations included the delimitation of maritime areas in the Bering Sea. The negotiations were tortuous and long drawn-out, while many people at that time also thought that it was a trifling matter. Power supply limited in Dubna near Moscow

26.06.2005, 16.06

MOSCOW, June 26 (Itar-Tass) -- The power supply is limited in the town of Dubna near Moscow. A power line break has terminated electricity supplies to 60% of the town area, a source in the Russian Interior Ministry press service told Itar-Tass on Sunday.

Lights are down in the apartments of 40,000 people, and the total population of the town is 66,000.

A pouring rain and a gale broke the power line. The Dubna nuclear center was not affected, the source said.

An emergency situations commission is having a meeting in Dubna to discuss repairs.

A storm warning has been given throughout the Moscow region, the source said.

"Hurrah, Putin!"

The agent of the KGB Ahmed Shamaev is extremely lucky, unlike his predecessor at the post of the "mufti of the Chechen Republic ", sent to answer for his "good" deeds to the "hot place”. This one turned out to be an agile guy.

The mullahcrat not only managed to disappear from the sight of mojaheds in time, but also he has recently got the post of the vizier of the head of the so-called Council of Muftis of Russia Ravil Gainutdin. The lucky beggar was given a hospitable place, having charged to control the religious organizations of the Northern Caucasus .

He is not the first representative of the nomenclature clergy of the Northern Caucasus , gone in "hajj" to Moscow . The trailblazer, who has worn the footpath to the plentiful granaries of the Moscow muftiat, was Muhammad Bidjiev, who in the beginning of the 90th was the main observer in Karachaevo-Circassia and wrote ...

"The Tender Killer"

"The Tender Killer"

The real scales of epidemic of hepatitis A, promptly extending across whole Central Russia , are already coded by the Kremlin authorities (as usually - "in order to prevent panic"). The fact of coding of these data also could remain a "secret", if some Russian mass-media have not told that the "officials", to whom their correspondents appealed for information, refuse to speak to journalists, referring to an interdiction of "the higher heads". We have decided to help the Russian mass-media a little and to tell them about the real scales of epidemic of hepatitis in Russia , because it is possible to learn about these scales easily enough without any "officials". For this purpose it is enough to appeal to former publications in the Russian mass-media, about the problem of hepatitis in the Russian Federation .

So, on the 19-20 th of December, 2002, in Tyumen , under the aegis of the Russian association ...
