Defense Minister Sergei Ivanov, in an interview given to the Profil magazine, talks candidly on what Russia’s military influence in the post-Soviet bloc, the CIS, really means, and whether the preemptive strikes his doctrine stipulates could have been used to quell the revolutions that have mushroomed in Russia’s backyard. But just who are this nuclear power’s real enemies?

A year and a half ago, in a document titled the “Ivanov doctrine”, Russia proclaimed the right to preemptive strikes against CIS countries. In light of the events in the last months in the former Soviet states, why didn’t you strike?

What do you argue about, friends!

After my arrival to Europe being a permanent reader of Chechen sites, I did not think, that sometime I would write about what disturbed me and surprised. But recently I have read some articles and interviews of the so-called politicians of Ichkeria.

Some papers, like Moskovsky Komsomolets, alleged, in so many words, that the scientist Nikolai Strachunsky, found dead last week in his hotel room with his laptop missing and a broken champagne bottle on the floor, was killed precisely because he uncovered the Tver-hep-A bioterror plan and, by gum, ...
