The Islamisation of the Caucasus, Putin’s work
Moscow is mourning today. The metro station bombings are rooted in Russia’s decision to use force in Chechnya and reject an offer of dialogue made by the late Chechen President Maskhadov. The attacks now raise concerns about xenophobia and possible human rights violations in the country.

Moscow (AsiaNews) – It is still unclear who is behind the Moscow metro bombings, a situation that might not be settled for some time. Even though the involvement of ‘black widows” remains a possibility, it has not been proven, despite what the media are saying. However, the 39 dead clearly demonstrate two things, namely the failure of Putin’s stabilisation policy (not only has Chechen terrorism not been defeated, but it has now spread to Dagestan and Ingushetia) and the Islamisation of the Chechen insurgency (now closer in outlook to the Taliban than to an independence movement).

Russian paper: Suicide bombers trained in Turkey

An article published in the Russian daily newspaper Kommersant has alleged that nearly 30 suicide bomber commandos received education at a madrasa in Turkey.

Once again, Russia and the world were shocked by an atrocious terrorist attack, one in which at least 39 people were killed in the Moscow metro.

The country’s terrorists have made it clear that they are still as strong and capable as ever to strike at any time or place. The group’s main leader, Chechen rebel Doku Umarov, has been warning for years that jihad will spread to all of Russia. The suicide bombers and their supporters carried out Monday’s mission with their typical professionalism and precision. The media have reported the existence of two special schools in the Caucasus for training suicide bombers, and now those graduates have brought their "skills” to practice.

The terrorist attack had the standard theatrical flair. The first explosion took place at the Lubyanka metro station, almost directly beneath the Federal Security Service. That ...

An informed person always associates Russia with constant wars with its near and far neighbours at the expense of which it has always been growing, getting richer and even stronger... All this is well demonstrated by the very history of this country. It shows facts of mass violations of rights of millions of people, nations, whole ethnic groups and even Russian and non-Russian residents of the country itself that were taking place during wars conducted in the name of the Russian power-state .There are plenty of materials and researches about these problems. International research centres carried out researches and made objective conclusions based on proven facts and made relevant recommendations which, as a rule, are not complied with by Russian leadership. Ultimately, this serious problem remains unresolved.

It is not possible for all this not to influence forms of state system, government structures as well as psychology of Russian nation itself which itself aided to ...

"The terrorists will be destroyed,” Prime Minister Vladimir Putin of Russia vowed on Monday, after two female suicide bombers set off blasts that killed dozens in two Moscow subway stations at rush hour.

It had been six years since the last suicide bombers hit the city’s metro, and suspicion fell on pro-Chechen militants, who carried out the previous explosions.
