The official was quoted as saying that the explosion, which occurred at around 10:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 28, near a Turkish border crossing into Iran, was an act of sabotage, the Turkish Dogan Daily News Agency reports. National Iranian Gas Company Managing Director Reza Kasaeizadeh was quoted by the semi-official Mehr News Agency as saying that 60 to 70 meters of the pipeline would have to be replaced. He too said he believed it was an act of sabotage but did not suggest who might be behind it.
