The grief without mind
In the beginning of article read a joke: Stalin calls Beria and says: "Lavrenty, somebody stole my smoking pipe". Beria: "hang on a little, we will make things clear and find your pipe". After three hours, Stalin ransacked in his desk and found in it his pipe, after which he called Beria and told: "Listen Lavrenty, in a box of a desk I found my pipe". On what Beria answers to him: "How it was found? We are having already five presons who have confessed!”
I deliberately began this article with a joke about dictator Stalin and his bloody executioner Lavrenty Beria, because there has inflamed now in USA the following scandal connected to president bush's desire to legalize torture towards suspected people in the legislative order. It is good, that there are still thinkers left in United States who understand that to torture - means to achieve confession instead of establishing the truth.
Thinkers were found in the American senate, and they have blocked the bill suggested from the White house, the bill making tortures permitting. Besides both in the Pentagon and in CIA, having learned about the legislative creativity of the president, asked him to relieve them from such laws because as nobody they do not have the desire to torture.
And what president Bush and his advisers? They after all did not understand what they have made of themselves a laughing-stock and continue in the manner of donkey persistence insisting on necessity of acceptance of such law. It is difficult for them to understand, that if such law is accepted, their democratic country automatically will come back in the Middle Ages and then sadists from notorious Iraq prison "Abu Greib", condemned for mockeries and tortures over defenceless prisoners, should be released on freedom after which, from executioners they will turn into heroes. And Americans love deeds and heroes!
However, in order that the president of USA could throw this foolishness and again become the politician with sound mind, in the senate urgently it is necessary to pass the special law forbidding dialogue in private between Bush and Putin. It is no doubt that brought up in Christian family, and from the early childhood, pious believer in God George could not hit upon this idea independently if it were not the help of his friend Vova Putin.
I think that situation was such: After George has glanced at transparent and honest fishy eyes of KGB-official and asked him about his past, Vova showed him in his palm the dagger smoked on fire and then told how they torture "evil chechens" in liubiansk cellars. And how it finely helps to establish "the peace and order" in the occupied country: the war got so frightened of "wetting" Putin's methods that it ran up from the Chechen Republic all over the Northern Caucasus. After that, the idea on tortures for a long time settled down in, struck with paranoia "war against terrorism", consciousness of the American president. However, as Bush, unlike smart and deceitful colonel of KGB, is the true democrat and the carrier of ideas of freedom, he will be unable to torture people secretly, he needs approval of society and that is why the simple-minded Texas cowboy decided to legalize tortures.
The only thing that Bush has not thought is - a place of impending punishments. On what there is a following offer: to drive a needle in the prisoner's nails, to hit them current on genitals, to saw gums and to tear a skin with flat-nose pliers not elsewhere, but directly in basements of statue "Freedom". Everyone will agree that it will be incomparably more democratic tortures, than groans, shouts and a gnash of teeth in cellars of gloomy Liubianka! And if two lovely friends in the future will quarrel, George always will be able to face before Vova that fact, that in authoritative Russia, unlike democratic USA, people are torture not legally. And it, whatever one may do, is full lawlessness.
Certainly, all this would be ridiculous, if it was not so sad. Still in recently times, in 2001, right at the beginning of struggle with so-called "global terrorism", in America for public appeals to legalize tortures or to destroy by bombing broadcasting company "Al-Jasira" it was quite possible to ring out in a madhouse. However today with these mad ideas the leaders of the advanced democratic countries walk on the ground, absolutely not understanding, that thus they with their own hands are destroying FREEDOM and JUSTICE - the main invaluable property inherited by them from grandfathers and fathers.
