Who is Valerya Novodvorskaja?
Valerya Il'inichna Novodvorskaja was born May, 17, 1950 in city of Baranovichi of Byelorussian SSR.Citizen of the Russian Federation.
In 1968 has finished high school with a medal. Has entered institute of foreign languages of Moris Terez (the French branch) on a speciality "translator and teacher".
In 1969 is arrested for anti-soviet activity (the organization of underground student's group in which necessity of overthrow of a communistic mode by armed revolt was discussed).
In 1970-1972 is placed in psychiatric clinic (the diagnosis - "schizophrenia, paranoid development of personality").
In 1970-1980 participated in dissident movement in the USSR. For the political activity was repeatedly instituted criminal proceedings.
Since 1972 took part in duplicating and distribution of "samizdat".
In 1973-1975 worked as the teacher in children's sanatorium.
1975-1990 worked as translator in the medical literature in 2-nd Moscow medical institute.
In 1977 has finished evening faculty of foreign languages of the Moscow regional pedagogical institute of Nadejda Krupskaya.
In 1977-1978 undertook attempts to create underground political party for struggle against the CPSU.
In 1978 has come in number of founders of illegal trade union SMOT ("free professional association of workers").
In 1978, 1985, 1986, is condemned for dissident activity (was on small terms in psychiatric hospitals) .
In 1984-1986 was close to members of pacifistic group "Doverye".
In 1987-1991 was the organizer of some non-authorized meetings, for participation in which was exposed to detention by militia and administrative arrests in total 17 times.
In 1988 participated in creation of a party "Demokratichesky sojyz" (democratic union) (DS).
In 1990 was accused of the public insult of honour and dignity of the President of the USSR M.S.Gorbachyov and in the insult of the national flag.
In May, 1991 criminal case for appeals to violent overthrow of a political system of the USSR is excited, is conditionally condemned for two years of corrective-labour works. Is released on August, 23, 1991 ("in connection with change of conditions in the country").
In the summer 1992 the president of Georgia Zviad Gamsakhurdia has given Valerya Novodvorskaja the Georgian citizenship (simultaneously having appointed her adviser for human rights).
At the end of 1992. Novodvorskaya and a part of members of DS have created the organization "Democratic union of Russia" (DSR).
In October, 1993 participated in constituent congress of the block "Vibor Rosyi".
In June, 1994 participated in constituent congress of "Democratic choice of Russia".
In 1994, 1995, 1996, are started criminal cases (for "propagation of civil war and kindling of interethnic dissension", and also because of articles Novodvorskaya published in the newspaper "Novyi Vzgljad", and the leaflets written to by for pickets of DSR).
In 1995, 2003 unsuccessfully stood for the State Duma of Russia under lists of the Party of economic freedom of Konstantin Borovogo and on one-mandatory district of Moscow.
Valery Novodvorskaja - known Russian right protector, independent journalist, the author of numerous sharp publications, including on a theme of the Russian-Chechen war: "The day of open doors in hell", "The history of one city", "Caucasus not with me", "Death to anti-hero", "Why Beslan is not New-York", "Three basic courses of sovereignty", "The come of the AntiChrist to the people" etc. (are printed on a site "Grany.ru").
