(A wake up call to every being that is human but is being inhuman!)

I’m quite baffled & stunned as to why the rest of world has stayed aloof as a taciturn bystander to the holocausts taking place in Chechnya. Is it because the rest only care for the west?

Or is it they regard Chechen lives as insignificant and not relevant enough so as to be perturbed by their grief?

I ask all people who believe in human rights, regardless of the nationality, that if a community is battered incessantly by their tormenters, shouldn’t the ‘enlightened’ world of today wake up from its bogus catnap and show concern towards the pain and anguish of these guiltless people who’ve been facing the genocide for more than a decade now?

And yet the media which has always been apprehensive towards the turmoil in Iraq or in Afghanistan hasn’t done much to expose & publicize the harsh reality of the chechnyan genocide. The media should act upon conscientiously and ought to realize that it is media alone which can make the public responsive & sensitive towards the Chechen dilemma.

We, the ‘sophisticated inhabitants’ of the world, are accountable for these distressing transgressions which sadly have not come to an end even after losing countless innocent lives who were a victim of man made catastrophe - ‘the illegal occupation’.

It’s time for the human race to reorganize and, without more ado sort out all matters of conflict which for years have brought only misery and heartache to the people in the troubled region. The general public should empathize for a genuine convention, that allows every individual to live life peacefully and in liberty.

Time after time it has emerged unmistakably that Russia doesn’t want to broker peace in the Caucasus region for its own snobbish reason - ‘POWER’.

Russia has constantly rejected all feasible negotiations which perhaps could have led to an enduring peace and stability in Chechnya.

Yet no one dares to raise objections against the Russian bullying in the Caucasus

region. Why? Because the UN armed forces do not want to pry in any conflict with Russia, since Russia is a nuclear power.

What about those thousands of innocent lives lost owing to the persecution and widespread human rights violation which are still rampant and are inexcusably overlooked by the rest of the world?

Russia has no morality as it continues to occupy a region which duly deserves independence from its captors who are engrossed in exploiting the resources of the region and terrorizing its inhabitants. The UNO should take stringent steps to enforce stability in Chechnya. Russia should be stopped from carrying on its unscrupulous occupation of the region. Sadly, the existence of world peace organization like the UNO has not affected a great deal and the UNO has failed miserably in its responsibilities of ending all conflicts and tragedy, be it the large scale famine in Sudan, or the unjust war in Iraq( which could have well been avoided if the UN had acted impartially), the ethnic cleansing in Bosnia, the problem of Kashmir, and the occupation of Palestine and genocide in Chechnya. It is the task of UNO to ensure each country promotes freedom, sovereignty of a different nation and value all human existence.

On the contrary, all proposed drafts of the UN commission for human rights relating to the human rights violations in Chechnya have outrageously been voted against in favor of Russia!

Have the UN members lost their sense of right and wrong or is it that they are too scared to say ‘NO’ to Russia?

The outcomes of the UN negotiation have repeatedly let down the expectations of the Chechen people triggering anger and frustration causing more pain to their injuries.

I request the UNO to implement all strategies to apprehend the Chechen crisis and reflect on the agony of these people who have every right to live in peace like any other individual in France, America, England, Germany…just like any other place in the world.
