On June, 2nd the Maykopsky area veterinary service of Adygeya revealed in the household of E.P. Vlasenko in Hamyshki settlement a loss of cattle (4 pigs).

Presumable reason of the loss of cattle discovered by the specialists was the african pig plague. From the dead pigs they took pathological material which was in short terms transported to the laboratory of the town of Pokrov, Vladimirskaya territory. On June, 7th they found out that the results of the laboratory researches of the situated there the All-Russia veterinary and microbiology institute confirmed the presumed diagnosis.

In connection to the developed situation in Maykopsky area the minister of agriculture of Adygeya Republic Y.N. Petrov on that day held a sitting of the republican commission on prevention of extraordinary situations devoted to the problem of liquidation of aftereffects and prevention of widespreading of the virus of the african pig plague on the territory of Adygeya.

On the same day the republican veterinary service started implementing the actions planned at the mentioned sitting. At the way out the settlement to Tulsky settlement and Maykop town they together with militia organized a control-block post. Transportation of the pig slaughter products as well as other food stuff now is restricted. The most unpleasant thing is that the whole quantity of the pigs in that far settlement (102 pigs) must be slaughtered with further burning of their bodies. The same destiny waits for pigs in so called the first threatened zone with the radius 10 km away that settlement.

Main specialist of the republican veterinary management E.A. Aganin said that since June, 2nd in Hamyshki they had started implementing measures on localization and prevention of widespreading of the virus of the african pig plague.

The head of the rural settlement and the veterinary specialists gave the owners of the pigs written instructions about their actions in the developed situation. At present in the settlement the republican veterinary management takes away the pigs for their further slaughtering and complete utilization. The Cabinet of Ministers of Adygeya Republic allocated corresponding financial means for operative and well-timed organization of all the necessary measures.
