12 03 2010 Attacks on repatriates in Maykop (Adygea)
On 3rd of March, Natpress news agency reported that "Three extortionists have put heavy wounds on repatriate in Adygea”.
On the evening of March 2, in Maykop, three extortionists have penetrated in the house of repatriate Nadji Churmit and have put on him heavy wounds. As his neighbors descry him lifeless they called up ambulance. He was delivered to the Adygean republican clinic hospital. According to the doctors he was in severe situation but in stable form, he was beaten in the face and has got brain concussion. As his relatives’ informed Natpress agency, the police detained three suspects, and they are all circassians. As it was reported, from the victim they had taken money.
Yesterday, on 11th March, there was a strange proposition concerning the victim of robbery Nadji Churmit, it was said that he should be ready to leave the hospital 9 days prior to the proposed treatment of the doctor. But earlier the doctors said that he must go to the neurosurgery republican hospital for at least one week.
One of the victim’s relative Mahmud Churmit claims that the instance to release from the hospital can’t be linked to the state of health of the patient – it did not get better. In his opinion, it is an attempt to diminish the guilt of the attackers.
If the beaten victim, - he explained to Natpress, - would be released today, as the lawyer told me, the attackers would gain a less punishment.
According to him, the attackers had studies their victim, through getting acquainted with him personally. They were certain that the victim is dead; therefore they even didn’t try to hide their faces. They tried to kill him at the beginning.
