Unattractive scene of interdiction on
carrying out of Adyghe Djegu on the New Year's eve on Lenin's square in
Maykop and participation in it of employees of the law enforcement
bodies will be discussed at the session of the executive committee of
the public movement “Adyghe Khasa” of Adygeya. That was declared to
NatPress by the leader of the organization Arambiy Hapay. “I had not been on the square
during that moment, - he told the editor of the news agency, - but I
was called during the event. And as it was possible to find out, the
corresponding oral order proceeded from the deputy chief of Militia of
public security of Maykop Sergey Pogodin. And his explanations were
based on that Chechens had wanted to organize their own dancing circle
there. And Adygs could dislike that that threatened to turn out into an
interethnic conflict”. The named version of the militia
deputy chief, according to the head of Adyghe Khasa, seems to be the
official position of the law enforcement bodies, probably, and for the
management of the republic. “But I trust my sources, -
Arambiy Hapay commented on that treatment. - And they approve that
there had been no Chechens both among the gathered, and nearby. I was
informed that only local Adygs, repatriates and their children were
among gathered. But even if they were, why should Adygs oppose that
they had some fun, not breaking the laws?” As NatPress interlocutor noted,
he hopes that the session of the Adyghe Khasa executive committee would
clear up what had actually happened on the town square on the New
Year's Eve. But already now the fact does not cause doubts that public
movement “Adyghe Khasa” of Adygeya will achieve punishment of the
guilty. As the incident with interdiction on carrying out Adyghe Djegu
had earlier taken place in Maykop.
