Maykop counteracts ethnic and religious extremism in Caucasus

On November, 11-14th in Maykop the scientifically-practical conference “Counteraction to Ethnic and Religious Extremism in Caucasus” takes place. Its organizers are the Ministry of Education of Adygeya and the Adygeya state university (ASU). As it was stated in the invitations, the action is spent according to the republican target program “Ethno-cultural Development and Preventive Maintenance of Extremism in 2008-2010”.
Opening of the conference takes place on November, 12th at 10.00 o'clock in the morning in the ASU conference hall. Within the limits of the conference carrying out of the plenary session and work of four sections are planned:
- Theoretical and methodological bases of counteraction to religious and ethnic extremism in the modern conditions;
- Religious extremism: preconditions and forms in Northern Caucasus;
- Identification processes and development of tolerant consciousness in Northern Caucasus;
- Counteraction to youth extremism.
At the conference, as it is assured in the invitation, 76 reports of representatives of the eight subjects of the SFD, as well as Moscow, St.-Petersburg, Belgorod, Omsk, Orel, Perm, Samara, and Chelyabinsk will be heard and discussed.
On results of the work a resolution would be adopted and the collection of the conference’ participants’ materials would be published, the organizers promised.
