Adygeya president met representatives of clergy
13.9.2009

In the Presidential hall of the Adygeya Government House on September, 10th Aslan Tkhakushinov's meeting with representatives of the clergy, law enforcement bodies and intelligency took place, the press-service of the head of the republic reported. Participants of the meeting considered the problem of interaction of the state authorities and the religious associations in the sphere of the spiritually-moral education of the republican youth.

“There is some concern about processes in the republic connected with a forcing of the situation around what had been created through many years by the generations of the inhabitants of multinational Adygeya, - the good-neighbourhood, peaceful disposition, mutual understanding and interethnic consent. It is obvious that there are forces which do not wish the positive development of the republic where peace reigns. Their desire to clash Adygeya inhabitants according to their national attributes, to break down the inter-confessional peace and public consent in the republic is clearly visible, - Aslan Tkhakushinov told.

Participants of the meeting said that the youth needs the most steadfast attention - both from the state bodies, and from the most influential public institutes – to be paid. The role of the religious organizations in protection of the spiritual health, morals of the young men is also high as sources of the public morals are incorporated into religious traditions of the peoples of our country, into their humanistic orientation.

At the meeting interaction of religious associations with the executive and legislative bodies was also discussed. Thus it was especially underlined that the state structures within the limits of the powers are always ready to go towards in resolution of those or other problems clergy is facing.

Bishop of Maykop and Adygeya diocese Tihon and mufti, chairman of the Spiritual management of Moslems of Adygeya Republic and Krasnodar region Nurbiy Emizh told that for each believing man public peace and good-neighbourhood are very important, therefore the common sense and love should prevail over any situation.

So, for now there are no reasons for any serious anxiety in that sphere: as before, in Adygeya there are there are brotherly relations among peoples and mutual inter-confessional respect. Nevertheless, in the opinion of the head of the republic, the healthy forces of society should rally even more in their counterbalance to all the provocations. That opinion was supported by the participants of the meeting.

Let's remind, on August, 6th before Ramadan month the head of the republic had declared that in Adygeya there was no religious extremism. “We are constantly reminded about vahhabists, we are warned against them, - he said. - But we did not hear that though one vahhabist had been to Adygeya, we do not know about that. We just see people professing Islam in its purest ways”.

After August, 28th in Sochi the president of Russian Federation Dmitry Medvedev meeting with muftis and heads of the regions of Northern Caucasus mentioned that the key care of the federal authority is the spiritually-moral development of youth. “Muslim clergy has precisely the same care, - he said. - Unfortunately, the bands still manage to involve young men into the criminal activities. And in this connection I think we should develop a complex program on working with youth in Northern Caucasus.
