In the newspaper “Adyghe Mak’” the announcement of the book of Nurby Lovpache (scientist, archeologist, ethnographer and art critic) “Ancient Maykop” was published. The book is sent to the printing house and now prepared for edition, it was spoken in the publication. However the question of financing of its edition is not solved yet.

“The book will be interesting not only for the experts, but also for the fans of the history of Maykop, the land of Adygs and Caucasus”, - the newspaper “Adyghe Mak’” emphasized. The main thing it is devoted to is finding out of the most ancient date of the town’s foundation in the territory of Adygeya capital, and proof of its continuous existence till the newest times.

The date of the town’s foundation was established by the book’s author by means of decoding the inscription on the Maykopskaya plate found in the territory of Maykop and stored now in one of the museums of Saint-Petersburg. On those data the town with the initial name May was founded about 3200 years ago.

The scientist traced the continuous existence of the town using either the local written materials (similar to that was found out on Maykopskaya plate), and by means of the texts of the antique, Byzantian, Turkish and other authors.

And foundation of Maykop fortress by the imperial armies in the XIX century was continuation of the most ancient history of the town, Nurby Lovpache considered.

As it was remarked in the newspaper, the edition of the book is estimated by the printing house in 115 thousand rubles. The book is published by sponsor's means, and for today for the account of the printing house 50 thousand rubles were allocated. “If there would be 65 Adygs which would allocate for the edition of the book 1 thousand rubles each, the question of financing of its edition would be solved”, - it was stated in the newspaper “Adyghe Mak’”.
