Sukhum/Agency Caucasus - International Committee of the Red-Cross, or IRC, an organization which has been active in Abkhazia since 1992, organized a competition among the Abkhazian students in the field of international social rights.
Students at middle and high levels of education from Gudauta, Gulprish, Ochamcihra, Tkuarchal and Gal gathered together in Sukhum to join a competition in the field of social rights.
The students from Ochamchira ranked first, those from Sukhum second, and those from Gagra third in the competition. Gifts were distributed to all students, teachers and officials who attended the competition. KU/ÖZ/FT

A growth of 29.3 percent in mathematical figures equals 364.6mn rubles in financial terms. Hence, public officers will have a pay increase of 30 percent over the past one year. Pay increases will take effect as of January 1, and different rates of pay increases will apply to teachers. Class teachers who teach first-grade students and pre-school teachers will have an increase of 1000 rubles while guidance teachers will have a pay-rise of 200 rubles. Such a representation is attested on the coloured Genoese portalans (sea-charts) of the XIII-XIV centuries. A dark-red flag with white palm flew in the Middle Ages above the town of Sebastopolis (otherwise San-Sebastian and the classical Dioskuria, which was founded by the ancient Greeks in the VI-V centuries BC), on which site stands today's capital of Abkhazia, the city of Sukhum. The victims' relatives, war veterans and the local people joined the commemorative ceremonies in both Gudauta and Tkuarchal. The Georgian soldiers shot down on December 14, 1992, a Russian helicopter while it was carrying bunches of hopeless people from Tkuarchal to Gudauta.
