11/4/2007 Premier of Georgia reports his plan of settling Abkhazian conflict to the UN
On April 10, Georgia's Premier Zurab Nogaideli took part in the closed session of the UN Security Council on discussing the situation around Georgian-Abkhazian settlement. Mr. Nogaideli acquainted the members of the Council with the main points of Georgian settlement plan, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent reports.
Premier Nogaideli stated that the main idea of the Georgian settlement plan is based on three conditions: peaceful settlement with return of refugees to the whole territory of Abkhazia, recognition of territorial integrity of Georgia as the basic settlement principle, and deciding on Abkhazia's future only through voting after return of all the refugees to their homeland.
"We'll take all the measures to implement these principles, the Georgian state is ready to do so," Mr. Nogaideli has emphasized. In his words, these basic principles will be put into the resolution to be passed by the UN Security Council on the outcomes of the session.
