The vice-premier Leonid Lakerbaja on January 17th held a meeting with participation of representatives of the special working group created with the view of security of population of Abkhazia and prevention of poultry diseases from possible bird's flu break out.
The meeting participants informed the vice-premier about organized preventive actions, in particular, on Inguri Bridge. On the Gali market any trade of breathing birds and products of poultry farming, and also export of products of poultry farming and breathing bird from Gali area into other areas of republic had been already forbidden.
According to the Ministry of Agriculture, in Abkhazia there are about 220 thousand house birds. As the minister of health Zurab Marshanija noted, in every area a mobile group should work; they had organized round-the-clock watch and informing of the State veterinary service about cases of detection of any virus attributes and infection.
While in Abkhazia they had not found out any case of infection with the bird's flu virus.
The vice-premier intended to spend such meetings regularly. As he said, the government of Abkhazia planned to buy up one million dozes of the vaccine in Krasnodar territory.
