It was declared today in Sukhumi by the president of Republic Abkhazia Sergey Bagapsh at a meeting with the assistant to the United Nations Secretary General special representative Iwo Petrov, - correspondent "Caucasian unit" was informed in the Management of the governmental information.
The president expressed his concern in relation to absence of corresponding estimation in connection with aggravation of conditions in Gali area of republic frontier to Georgia. According to Sergey Bagapsh, "the events of the last days confirm that terrorism in Georgia is erected in the rank of the state policy". He emphasized necessity of corresponding reaction of the international community and the Group of friends to the United Nations Secretary General on the facts of barefaced gangsterism.
Sergey Bagapsh informed Iwo Petrov about the intention of Abkhazian government to provide actions for keeping public safety in Gali area using forces of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Service of state security.
Mr. Iwo Petrov in his turn told that concern of the Abkhazian party would be informed up the Secretary General special representative across Georgia Hajdi Taliavini.
Note: since the beginning of this year in Gali area of Abkhazia they had stolen 3 citizens of republic, and on the last Friday as a result of a shootout a worker of Inguri hydroelectric power station was killed.
