(Our correspondent) An investigation has established that the attacks on the Prime Minister of Abkhazia, Aleksandr Ankvab, on the 28th of February and on April 1st, 2005, were carried out using the same firearms, which indicates the existence of a group of persons who are dedicated to pursuing the elimination of the Prime Minister.
An "Apsnypress" Agency story relates these facts to the findings of the Joint Investigation Operations Group and Investigation Chief of the General Procurator's Office, Dzhamal Gogiy.
These facts, according to Gogiy, testify to one version of the events being pursued by investigators--that the new government of Abkhazia is threatening the criminal and financial interests of the group that attacked the Prime Minister. In this version, criminal cases and terrorist acts against the Prime Minister are connected.
"Despite efforts by the operational services of the MVD and SGB of Abkhazia to solve these crimes, there are no concrete results at present. None of the advanced investigations by the Operational Services has determined who participated in the crimes", noted the leader of the Joint Investigation Operations Group.
