IN THE MEMORY OF A WARRIOR
23-March-2006

In the memory of a great devoted Chechen, the assassinated President Aslan Maskhadov, (May Almighty God Bless and Mercy His Soul) the patient Chechen Nation is commemorating the relentless and tireless contribution, and continuous strive.

His feet were planted in motherland, but eyes were surveying the world, to make the truth reach for the wise intellectuals of the world to understand what kind of colonial aggression Chechnya was subjected to.

As a typical Chechen patriot, pain and suffering were felt and he was raised with, but it was in the deep belief that "pain is life-the sharper, the more evidence of life", which proves that pain and victory, like light and darkness, and they succeed each other. Praise, glory, splendor, and fame were not of his worries as were to secure for his country self-determination and "free to choose" the path of present and future.

The strong believer had strong desire to live for the good and dignity of Chechnya, and at the same time taking the form of readiness to die for his noble cause, and he always had in mind that the time was not for ease and comfort, but it was for dare and endure.

Tangible and intangible results were achieved during his glorious life, but the enemies' greed, selfishness, and ambitious colonial occupation where the factors that drove the Chechnya conflict and kept igniting the evil criminal imperial war that is still running decisively.

The Russian imperialists couldn't face the man in face to face battles, and he is the professional and strategic military man, like they couldn't face him on the negotiation table. The coward, timid, and bold-faced criminals took the advantage of his interest in peace negotiations and betrayed him by murdering the man of peace who was willing to put an end to all hostile operations, and to grant a peaceful settlement that would guarantee the right of Chechens in self-determination.

Their crime did not yield there but continued by keeping his body, and preventing his loved ones to provide a dignified burial as per Islam and other religions dictate for. The proved to be cannibals who wanted to enjoy the feast to the bone!

His greatest glory, which springed from self silent conquest, consisted not in never falling, but in rising every time you fall.

Patience was remarkable, when the load and pressure of a continuous aggression against his nation were dealt with in a professional way, when the limited resources were converted to great possibilities of resisting the foreign military aggression, and within reasonable capabilities.

President Maskhadov was strong to forgive his enemy, because the forgiveness is the attribute of the strong.

A man of principle, who was loyal for his principles, and took into consideration the quotation "Ask not what your country can do for you: Ask what you can do for your country", and he did his best to serve in the toughest times. He was seeking peace, knowing that peace is the climate for freedom, but the peace was denied to his efforts to start negotiations and to establish peace to end up the Russian aggressive war against his nation.

The respect that he achieved from his nation, as an elected president, and most of the people that got to know him, was due to his self-sacrifice in a worthy task in saving his small nation. The price of his sacrifice was always persistence, constant work, patience, pride, and loyalty.

President Aslan Maskhadov is a hero. He was not the first nor the last hero Chechnya gave birth to, or Almighty God's gift to Chechnya; but his followers, the brothers and sisters from Chechnya will follow his foot-steps to carry on the straight path.

The famous quotation (proverb) described the right of determination of the people as follows:
"The voice of the people is the voice of God".
