Hearings on "Cadet's case" postponed again in Chechnya

The continuation of the trial on the case of Sergey Lapin, former senior lieutenant of Nizhnevartovsk District Interior Department (ROVD) (also known by his radio ID as "Cadet") that was appointed for September 3 at the Oktiabrskiy Court of Grozny did not take place because of non-appearance of the defendant's advocate. The "Caucasian Knot" correspondent has learnt about it from Stanislav Markelov, advocate of the offended party. We remind you that Lapin is accused of torturing Zelimkhan Murdalov, a resident of Grozny, the capital of Chechnya.

In connection with the aforesaid, Judge Aset Mamaeva has re-appointed the session to September 13.

Chechnya: Gunmen killed four policemen in Russia's volatile province of Chechnya in two separate incidents early today.

Two policemen died and one was wounded after a blast and a shoot-out, while another two policemen died in a second attack.

ROSTOV-ON-DON, Russia: Gunmen fired at a police patrol in Chechnya, killing two officers in one of several attacks in Russia's restive North Caucasus, law enforcement officials said Thursday.

The assault late Wednesday occurred near the town of Alpatovo in relatively calm northern Chechnya, the region's Interior Ministry said. Two members of a police unit from Siberia serving in Chechnya were killed, and the attackers fled, it said.

In other violence Wednesday, the explosion of what was likely a homemade bomb ruptured a natural-gas pipeline in the North Caucasus republic of Kabardino-Balkaria, cutting supplies to about 200 homes, according to a spokesman for the Emergency Situations Ministry's southern Russia branch, Sergei Kozhemyaka. He said supplies were expected to be restored late Thursday.

A BTR armored vehicle and two Russians was destroyed and three Russian kafirs were injured in the attack carried out by the Mujahideen sabotage squad in the village on August 4, a source inside the Mujahideen command have reported to KC.

In the same day Russian military convoy came under fire from in Nozhai-Yurt district of the country. The attack has lasted for about 10 minutes.  As a result of this attack three kafirs have been eliminated three and at least three kafirs have been injured. According to the source Chechen fighter did not incur any casualties.

One armed Kadyrovan was killed and four others were wounded as a result of attack of a mobile squad of Mujahideen in the settlement of Gukhoi in Chechnya's Itum-Kali region of CRI late on Monday, occupation sources reported on Tuesday.

The invaders also reported that Mujahideen fired from grenade launchers on a house local puppet head of the administration. Other details were not reported.

According to other information a squad of Mujahideen entered the village Gukhoi late at night on Aug. 3 and conducted a special operation by disarming a group of Kadyrovans and burning a house of the head of puppet administration. The head was warned to leave the occupation service.
