Serviceman killed in Chechnya sniper fire

GROZNY, September 13 (Itar-Tass) - A serviceman of Russian interior troops was killed in sniper fire on Tuesday evening, district police told Itar-Tass on Wednesday.
The serviceman was a member of the patrol guarding the commandant's office. "The solider died on the way to hospital," a police office said.

An artillery bombardment took place at dawn on September 13. Several artillery shells exploded on the outskirts of village Serzhen-Yurt. No one pupportedly suffered as a result of the explosion. Heavy damage was inflicted on the property.
For several days now the forested areas of this district have been subjected to artillery fire from a Russian occupation tank unit that is located in the city of Shali. Long-range guns are also being used, and these are reaching the Nozhay-Yurt and Vedeno districts.
