<GRAPHIC />13 September 2005 (RFE/RL) -- Russian news agencies say unidentified attackers today opened fire with a grenade launcher on Chechnya's police headquarters, wounding at least nine people.

ITAR-TASS reported that the attackers shot about 20 grenades at the regional Interior Ministry building in Grozny. The building suffered minor damage

No further details were immediately available.

GROZNY, September 13 (Itar-Tass) - Militants attacked the building of the Interior Ministry in the Chechen capital Grozny on Tuesday midday.

The ministry’s official told Itar-Tass that the building was shot up with shoulder-fired grenade launchers, leaving ten servicemen wounded.

Police have begun the search for assailants.

MOSCOW, September 12 (Itar-Tass) - - A bomb went off on the way of movement of a UAZ car with federal servicemen.

As Itar-Tass learnt at the Chechen Interior Ministry, “a UAZ car with servicemen was blown up in Zhukovsky Street in Grozny’s Leninsky district at about 12.00 Moscow time. One of them died and another got an injury in the blast.”

According to the preliminary information, an explosive device went off on a roadside. Its power is being established. It is not known yet how many people were in the car.

An operational group of investigators of the Chechen Interior Ministry arrived at the site of the incident.

MOSCOW. Sept 13 (Interfax) - Ten people were wounded in a gunfire attack on the Chechen Interior Ministry in Grozny , a local law enforcement source told Interfax on Tuesday.

Those wounded were taken to the hospital and got medical aid, and their lives are out of danger, the source said.

Unidentified attackers fired about ten times from automatic grenade launchers on the ministry's territory, the source said. Another three grenades hit trailers used as offices for Interior Ministry officers.

ROSTOV-ON-DON. Sept 12 (Interfax) - One person was killed and five injured when a motor vehicle was blown up in Grozny on Monday, the Emergency Situations Ministry's southern regional center told Interfax.

The bomb exploded at 12:30 p.m. Moscow time in Grozny's Leninsky district.
