Chechen resisters strike Sever Caharkala / Agency Caucasus - Chechen resisters carried out on Wednesday night an armed strike at the occupant Russian occupiers in the Chechen capital of Caharkala.
One Russian commander as well as two mercenary soldiers were killed in the Chechen strike against Sever, a special team of forces of the Russian Interior Ministry.
The Chechens used automatic guns and fired rockets at the Sever troops as they stayed deployed in the district of Oktyabrski, the pro-Russian Chechen administration officials said. The Chechen resisters then moved away as the Russian soldiers fired back. Meanwhile, two police officers were injured the same day in Caharkala in an attack against the pro-Russian police.

CHECHNYA - On Saturday August 18 a group of armed men in camouflage uniforms detained three men, residents of the village of Assinovskaya, in an area of forest near the village of Bamut in the Achkhoy-Martanovsky district. They accused one of the men of being a traitor, and killed him.
Prague Watchdog’s correspondent has received information about the incident from a resident of Chechnya's Sunzhensky district. The resident says that one of the men detained by the guerrillas and then set free was a relative of his.

Chechen detainee missing in Prigorodnoye

CHECHNYA - On Sunday four local residents of the village of Prigorodnoye in the Groznensky district of Chechnya were abducted on the village outskirts, apparently by members of the official law enforcement agencies.
The young men were travelling from Grozny in a passenger car which belonged to one of them. At the entrance to the village their way was blocked by several vehicles containing armed personnel. All the young men were forced to get into them at gunpoint, and a convoy of five or six vehicles set off in the direction of Grozny, where it disappeared without trace.
