Chechen Mujahideen attacked a Russian military convoy on a mountain road between villages Nozhai Yurt and Sayasan on afternoon, August 16, destroying an armored personnal carrier (APC), and killing 5 and wounding at least 4 kafirs (infidels), reported a spokesman of the Eastern Front Headquarters of the Chechen Republic of Ichkeria's Armed Forces. No other details were given.

On August 14, a sabotage group of Mujahideen attacked with grenade launchers and undermined with landmine Russian invaders' convoy on the road Elistanji-Vedeno. As a result of this operation one army truck was destroyed and one BTR armored vehicle was hit. 5 invaders were eliminated and 6 others wounded in that operation. During the short crossfire two Mujahideen incurred injuries. In the same day in area of settlement Gansolchu Mujahideen fighters have undermined a cargo vehicle ZIL, killing two kafirs.
