GROZNY. July 6 (Interfax) - An improvised remote-control bomb was detonated near the local market in Urus-Martan on Saturday evening.

There were few people on the market and luckily no one suffered injuries, sources in the district authorities told Interfax.

The bomb was comprised of an explosive substance in a plastic bottle.

The incident is under investigation.

Carelessness costs life

A serviceman of the Russian Internal Affairs Ministry's interior troops wounded his mate as a result of carelessness in handling his submachine gun while on duty in Chechnya's Itum-Kale district, a source with the Joint Group of Forces in the North Caucasus told RIA Novosti.

The wounded soldier died on the way to hospital, the source added.

Abdul-Azim Yangulbekov, head of administration in Zumsoi, Itum-Kale district, was killed in Chechnya in the afternoon, the Regional Operations Headquarters (ROH) for the Counter-terrorist Operation in the North Caucasus told Interfax on Monday.

Four armed people in camouflage stopped Yangulbekov's car on a road. They said they were military men, had him out the car, and shot him dead, the ROH said.

The Internal Affairs Ministry emphasised there was a local tractor driver in Yangulbekov's car together with Abdul-Azim, but the gunmen let him go.

The ROH told RIA Novosti that no federal forces had been in the district at the time when the murder was committed.

A unit of the Vostok ("East") battalion came across a rebel base while conducting examinations in the forest in the Nozhai-Yurt district on 3 July. In a skirmish with the rebels, one of the servicemen was killed and two received gunshot wounds. The unit destroyed two rebels, and the rest managed to escape. The base was also destroyed.

Chechnya's Internal Affairs Ministry declined any comment on what had happened saying they had no information about the combat in the Nozhai-Yurt district.

Sabotage groups of Mujahideen kill 17 invaders, traitors

Spokesman of the State Defense Committee - Majlisul Shura of the CRI reported to Kavkaz Center news agency about successful sabotage actions carried out by Mujahideen in various parts of the country. According to the source, last Wednesday and Thursday mobile squads of Chechen fighters have stroke blows on enemy in capital Jokhar, Avtiri, Shelkovsk, Vedeno, and Shatoy districts of the country.

In capital, Mujahideen have shot the Kadirov collaborators. On a road between Jokhar and village Prigorodnoye, the Chechen fighters have fired at a vehicle with traitors on board, having eliminated two of them.

In Avturi two traitors killed. The war booty seized. Three invaders were killed in Shelkovsk district. There, the sabotage squad of Mujahideen undermined a motor vehicle with aggressors. Five invaders, who survived the undermining, received wounds.
